The Iraq Constitution: Its Drafting Process and Future

On November 10, 2009 the Program in Comparative Legal Studies & Post-Conflict Justice hosted a presentation by Jason Gluck, Director of the Constitution-Making Program and Director of the Iraq Rule of Law Program at the United States Institute of Peace, titled “The Iraq Constitution: Its Drafting Process and Future.”  Mr. Gluck provided technical support and advice during the constitutional drafting and review processes in Iraq. As a member of the United Nations Assistance Mission to Iraq, he served as Legal Officer and Constitutional Advisor to the Office of Constitutional Support and negotiated compromise positions among Iraq’s major political blocs on key constitutional provisions.
