Intern for International Bridges to Justice (IBJ), Cambodia
Background
I will be working for
International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) in
Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
IBJ aims to protect defendant rights by emphasizing the right of
defendants to competent legal representation, the right to be protected
from
cruel and unusual punishment, and the right to a fair trial.
Interns
travel to the provinces, visit prisons and courthouses, watch trials,
and report back to the Geneva headquarters on conditions in those
areas. Interns are also assigned one large-scale
legal research project to work on throughout the summer.
