The William & Mary Law School Association honored Virginia K. Fogg with the 25th Reunion Distinguished Alumna Award on April 14.

Fogg, a 1987 graduate of the Law School, is General Counsel for Norfolk Southern Corporation in Norfolk, Va.

The award is one of two honors given each spring by the Association to recognize outstanding alumni of classes celebrating their tenth and twenty-fifth graduations from law school.  Reunion classes nominated class members for the honors and the Association Board made the final selection of awardees.

Dean Davison M. Douglas presented the award to Fogg during Alumni Weekend's Reunion Dinner held at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg.

Douglas told the audience that Fogg has had a distinguished law career at Norfolk Southern for twenty-five years in which she has been involved in corporate, securities, and ERISA work, and currently serves as general counsel.  In addition, she has had "rich involvement" in organizations such as the Society for Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, and currently serves on its Board of Directors. She also has been an active member of the National Association of Women Lawyers, and has contributed to her local community as a member of the boards of directors of the Norfolk Arts Center and the YMCA of Hampton Roads' Camp Silver Beach.

Fogg received an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.  She earned a J.D. at William & Mary Law School and an M.B.A. at the College of William & Mary's Mason School of Business.  She served as co-chair of the Class of 1987 Reunion Committee.
