Due to COVID-19, ISEA 2021 will now occur virtually. It will begin Sunday, afternoon, July 25, 2021 and conclude on Friday, July 30, 2021.
Upon the completion of ISEA participants will receive a certificate in Special Education Advocacy from William & Mary Law School. Please note that in Virginia, there are no certification or training requirements to become a special education advocate. We encourage you to research your state’s rules and regulations on the requirements, if any, of working as a special education advocate. Please also note that this course does not provide a certification or endorsement. We are simply offering a certificate in Special Education Advocacy, which indicates that our attendees have successfully completed the required courses within the Institute of Special Education Advocacy. We expect that many ISEA graduates who earn this Certificate will list the training as an additional credential on their resumes, CVs, and LinkedIn profiles.
Registration is $950 for attorneys (CLE credit is anticipated) and $825 for advocates, and non-attorneys (CEU credit is anticipated) and non-credit seeking law students (see Law Student Registration Information tab for more information on receiving credit). Two or more advocates or attorneys from the same organization/office will receive a 10% discount on each registration.
If you are accepted, your tuition payment must be received within 10 days of acceptance, unless you have a pending application for the Kayla Bower Advocacy Award.
The Kayla Bower Advocacy Awards and tuition waivers application is due on June 1, 2021. All award applicants will be notified of a decision by June 18, 2021. If you are not awarded the tuition waiver, your registration fee will be due June 25, 2021.
Cancellations before July 16, 2021 will result in a full refund. Cancellations between July 17 and July 24 will result in a $50 cancellation fee.
Payment may be made via check or credit card. If paying by credit card, you are responsible for the additional transaction fees. There are no additional fees for paying by check.
