Lynn received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her law degree from William & Mary. She remembers moving into the "new" law school for her third year, and has come back to this familiar building many times over the years to recruit law students to work at the GAO. Lynn started at GAO right after graduation and was appointed General Counsel in January 2011. She has enjoyed her career working on diverse legal subjects for Congress, and has thrived on the opportunity to work with many talented lawyers at GAO and across the federal government. Lynn is married to Chris O'Rourke and is proud to have several W&M alumni in her family.
Her Own Words
"William & Mary provides a first rate legal education and a tremendous foundation for working in different sectors of the legal profession. I have been so impressed with the quality of the law students we have recruited from W&M and am happy to report that they - like me - have enjoyed rich and rewarding careers working for the federal government. William & Mary's career services office is one of the best around, and I am happy to have benefited from it personally and as an employer."
