Law School Ranks 14th Among U.S. Law Schools in Recent Graduates Securing Federal Clerkships
Slightly more than 24 percent of our Class of 2017 graduates (51 out of 208) are serving in judicial clerkships overall (almost nine percent in federal clerkships, more than 15 percent in state clerkships).

Robert H. Thomas of Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert in Honolulu will teach during the fall semester as the inaugural Joseph T. Waldo J.D. '78 Visiting Chair in Property Rights Law. The chair is named in honor of alumnus
Joseph T. Waldo J.D. '78, founder of Waldo & Lyle in Norfolk, who served as Co-Chair of the annual Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Conference from 2004-2017.

Reunion Classes Honor Past, Build Strong Future with Record Gifts and Pledges of $6.4 Million to Date
On April 13 &14, our alumni demonstrated that they know how to celebrate during Alumni Weekend and also help their alma mater. Ten reunion classes have raised a record $6.4 million in gifts and pledges to date.The previous reunion giving record, set in 2016, was $5.9 million.

"The Survey Says": 3L Class Gift Breaks 90 Percent Participation for Fifth Straight Year

Moot Court Team Ranks 10th in Nation
Our Moot Court team is ranked 10th in the nation according to new data compiled by the University of Houston Law Center. "The team was motivated to take the competition experience to the next level," said Jennifer R. Franklin, Professor of the Practice of Law and the Moot Court Program's faculty advisor. "The students encouraged each other to strive to excel in all that they did. Each individual competition team worked together sharing their individual strengths and, as a result, the students became better advocates." Read more.

Artificial Intelligence Legal Issues International Paper Competition Results Announced
Supported by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation (funded in turn by Cisco), the Center for Legal and Court Technology's international faculty have been studying the legal issues arising from Artificial Intelligence, the Internet-of-Things, Data Analytics, and associated technologies. As part of its continuing work, CLCT invited law students in the European Union, Canada, and the U.S. to submit papers setting forth novel legal issues posed by these rapidly expanding technologies. The winners, all of whom will receive cash prizes funded by the Community Foundation grant, were recently announced. Learn more (and read the winning papers!)

Annual Day of Giving Sets New Record
William & Mary celebrated its fifth annual One Tribe One Day on April 10 and surpassed all previous records made on the university's single biggest day of giving. An impressive 539 alumni, faculty, students, staff and friends contributed $158,401 to the Law School. Watch our video below, "Giving Back to Pay It Forward."
