The Immigration Law and Service Society will be hosting a Williamsburg Naturalization Clinic, a workshop to help eligible immigrants apply for U.S. citizenship. The full-day clinic will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The assistance extended to the public is free. Attorneys from Richmond, Newport News, Hampton Roads and the Williamsburg area will also participate. Volunteers will help lawful permanent residents (or “green card” holders) prepare their naturalization applications, obtain fee waivers, and receive information about the naturalization process.
This is a great opportunity to serve the community, explore immigration law, gain experience, network with W&M alumni, and see the impact of pro bono legal work!
If you are only able to attend for part of the day, please let us know. No prior knowledge of immigration law or foreign language proficiency is needed. Resources for preparing for the naturalization interview will be provided as well.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided for volunteers. Volunteers please arrive at 8:30 AM for setup, and refreshments.
Please sign up here if you wish to participate!
