Laura A. Heymann is the Faculty Advisor for SIPS. Professor Heymann teaches and researches copyright law and trademark law. Her scholarship on trademark law and linguistics was highlighted in the New York Times. She is the recipient of both the Walter L. Williams, Jr., Memorial Teaching Award and the College’s Thomas Jefferson Teaching Prize.
Christopher Anderson is the current President of SIPS. Chris is from Denver, Colorado. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Chris is now pursuing a career in patent law, likely focusing on patent prosecution. This summer Chris will be working as a Summer Associate at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner in their Reston, V.A. office.
Ryan Krocker is the current Vice President of SIPS. Ryan is from Titusville, New Jersey. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in psychology and a minor in Spanish. This summer Ryan will be working as the summer associate for Jones, Blechman, Woltz, & Kelly in Newport News, VA. Likely he will end up in transactional practice in trademark and copyright or more general business law.
Emily Tucker is the current Director of Development of SIPS. Emily is from Lawsonville, North Carolina. She graduated from Georgia Insitute of Technology with a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. This summer Emily will be splitting between Crowell & Moring and Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati in Washington, D.C. where she will be focusing on patent prosecution and litigation.
Kasey Koballa is the current Director of Alumni Relations of SIPS. Kasey is from Wrightsville Beach, North Carolian. She attended North Carolina State University where she graduated with a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. This summer Kasey will be splitting with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton in Washington, D.C. and Ward and Smith in Raleigh, N.C. where she will be focusing on patent litigation.
Ryan Klima is the current Secretary and Treasurer of SIPS. Ryan is from Fredericksburg, Virginia. He attended Virginia Tech and graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Science, Engineering, and Law. This summer Ryan will be working as a Summer Associate at Fish & Richardson in their Washington, D.C. office where he will be focusing on patent prosecution and inter partes reviews.
Andrew Levitt is the current 1L Representive of SIPS. Andrew is from Wilmington, Deleware and attended George Washington University before attending the William & Mary Law School. This summer, Andrew will be clerking at Patterson Thuente Pedersen in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he will be focusing on patent prosecution.
