Digital Democracy Lab cohosts "Election Security and Forward Defense: Cybersecurity, AI Weaponry, and Information Warfare" panel
On Monday, November 6, the Digital Democracy Lab cohosted a lunch panel discussion on "Election Security and Forward Defense: Cybersecurity, AI Weaponry, and Information Warfare." The panel was moderated by Kira Allmann, Global Research Institute Director of Partnerships and Communications at W&M.
The panelists included: Professor Will Mackie, W&L Law, and former Senior Trial Attorney in the National Security Division of the US Department of Justice, who will discuss election hacking and cyber warfare; Margaret Hu at W&M Law; Professor Liz Losh in W&M American Studies and Director of W&M's Equality Lab and author of recent book, "Selfie Democracy,"; Professor Trenton Ford in W&M Data Science who focuses research on disinformation and misinformation campaigns; and Jeremy Swack, Co-Director of DisinfoLab at W&M.
