Deputy Director Mechelle King graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering, majoring in Business with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Technical Communication. After working in digital marketing for financial institutions for over a decade, Mechelle attended law school at William & Mary. During law school, she interned for Legal Resources Centre in Cape Town, South Africa through the Center for Comparative Legal Studies and Post-Conflict Peacebuilding (CLS/PCP) her 1L summer. As a 2L and 3L, Mechelle worked on digital initiatives for CLS/PCP and co-chaired the "No Transition, No Justice" Symposium with Director Christie Warren. Mechelle continued her client advocacy work in the law school's first Immigration Clinic cohort. She also interned with the Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of Virginia her 2L summer.
Mechelle graduated from William & Mary Law School in 2021 with a concentration in International Law. She now lives and works in Washington D.C. as an Honors Attorney with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
