Ambria Armstrong

East West Management Institute (Baku, Azerbaijan)

About

Ambria grew up in rural Pennsylvania and has always loved to travel.  She studied English at the University of South Carolina, and she found her passion for international human rights while studying abroad in Ecuador for a service learning class, where she also researched environmental issues in the Galapagos Islands.  Ambria is particularly interested in balancing environmental concerns with the socio-economic effects of regulation on local citizens.

Ambria will be working for EWMI's program in Baku, Azerbaijan, which is called SEDA (Socio-Economic Development Activity). SEDA works with Community Development Councils and other organizations to expand citizen involvement and create strategies to address socio-economic development needs in the community. These projects include improving infrastructure, agricultural development, environmental interventions, public housing management, and educational initiatives.
