Eduardo Lopez
Khulumani Support Group (Johannesburg, South Africa)
About
Eduardo Lopez was born in North Carolina, but is a first-generation American—both of his parents being from Panama. In 2013, Eduardo earned his BA in Criminal Justice at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, before coming to William & Mary Law School. While completing his JD at W&M, Eduardo participated in the William & Mary Law School Madrid, Spain Summer Study Abroad Program. Although he is not sure which direction he will take in his legal career, Eduardo is certain he will dedicate his legal skills to helping others.
This summer, Eduardo will be working with the Khulumani Support Group in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Khulumani Support Group is a membership-based organization of approximately 85,000 victims and survivors of Apartheid-related human rights violations. This summer, Eduardo will have the opportunity to assist Khulumani’s litigation team as they begin to litigate two cases in the South Africa High Court. He is extremely excited to get started.
