Emily Gabor

About

Emily Gabor is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She majored in Economics and Political Science at the University of Wisconsin--Madison. Before coming to law school, she completed a three-month Global Health Fellowship in Accra, Ghana. Emily is a rising 2L at William & Mary Law School, and is interested in pursuing a career in public service, particularly with development work and human rights issues.

Emily will be working this summer with USAID's Supporting Access to Justice, Fostering Equity and Peace (SAFE) project. SAFE is a five-year development program, whose objective is to strengthen the Government of Uganda’s capacity with respect to peace building and conflict mitigation. The program intends to enhance the capacity of local actors, strengthen mechanisms for resolving and mitigating conflicts related to land, address residual effects of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) conflict in northern Uganda, and transform emerging conflicts into peaceful outcomes. As part of the program, Emily will be helping to resolve land disputes and ethnic conflicts, as well as working with the refugee community to help them incorporate into Ugandan life.
