International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (The Hague, Netherlands)

About

Eric Sutton was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, but he graduated from and spent his senior year of high school at the Leysin American School in Switzerland. He earned a B.A. in History from Kenyon College in 2011, and wrote his senior thesis on the British military's treatment of non-combatants during the second Anglo-Boer War in South Africa. After graduation, Eric interned in the U.S. Senate and spent two years working for a state senator in the Nebraska Legislature (the nation's only unicameral state legislature).

Eric will be working this summer for the Constitution Building division of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance in The Hague. International IDEA's Constitution Building division assists national actors engaged in the process of constitution building; helps individuals and groups improve participation in the constitution building process by providing information and capacity-building resources; facilitates access to comparative lesson learning in order to increase the options of national, regional, and international actors confronted with different constitutional issues; and helps the global community of constitution building building by creating opportunities for dialogue.
