Kelsey Knitter
Khulumani Support Group
About
Born and raised in Northern California, Kelsey graduated from UC Berkeley in 2014 with a degree in Peace and Conflict Studies and a Minor in Music. While at Cal, her focus was in international human rights and much of her research focused on the continent of Africa. After graduating, Kelsey spent the year teaching English in both Costa Rica and Spain. Ultimately, she hopes to get involved in international human rights law and is looking forward to the opportunities provided at William and Mary.
As a rising 2L, Kelsey will be spending her summer working in Johannesburg, South Africa, at the Khulumani Support Group. The Khulumani Support Group is a membership-based organization of approximately 85,000 victims and survivors of Apartheid-related human rights violations. Kelsey will have the opportunity to assist Khulumani to build an inclusive and just society in which the dignity of people harmed by apartheid is restored through the process of transforming victims into victors.
