About

Jennifer Lucas was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. She attended Florida State University and double majored in Economics and Political Science. She decided to pursue a law degree because she want to be a change-agent and serve as a voice for those that do not have one. Her passion for people combined with the calling she feels to work towards correcting injustice led her to International Bridges to Justice (IBJ). 

This summer, Jennifer will be working for International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) in their Geneva, Switzerland office. IBJ works to “protect the basic legal rights of ordinary citizens in developing countries.” Their mission is to specifically, “guarantee all citizens the right to competent legal representation, the right to be protected from cruel and unusual punishment, and the right to a fair trial.” As an intern, Jennifer will be researching legal and historical backgrounds of various countries across the globe and writing project and funding proposals to organizations such as private donors, international foundations, and governments. She, along with a team of interns from all over the world, will ensure legal compliance in the US and Switzerland in regards to grant applications, as well as collaborate to build and create new initiatives for developing countries.
