Nicole Cochran
About
Nicole Cochran grew up in the pine barrens of South Jersey. While studying economics at the University of Mary Washington, she became fascinated by the interrelationship between legal rules and economic markets. This fascination, combined with an enduring passion for international development, led her to William & Mary to study comparative law and land tenure issues.
This summer, Nicole hopes to add a new dimension to her understanding of international development at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C. USIP works to prevent, mitigate, and resolve violent conflict. One key aspect of USIP's mission is to promote justice, security, and rule of law in post-conflict states, and Nicole will be working on issues related to the security sector in the aftermath of violent conflict.
