Delia Root

Delia Root is originally from Madisonville, Kentucky. She received her B.A. in International Studies and minor in Chinese Studies at Murray State University in May of 2017. After graduating, she started her Juris Doctorate at William and Mary Law School in Williamsburg, Virginia, in August of 2017. During the summer between graduating from undergraduate and starting law school she interned at the Department of Public Advocacy in Madisonville, Kentucky. There she worked with public defenders by taking notes during client interviews and organizing discovery and jury information for crimes ranging from minor misdemeanors to felonies, including multiple murder. 
Delia will be spending the summer working for Beijing Children's Legal Aid and Research Center, a non-governmental organization located in Beijing, China. BCLARC works to encourage Chinese lawyers to participate in child welfare protection and establish a network of professionals in juvenile protection work. The research and model of operation that BCLARC does supports child protection, and enhance child law research and legislation.
