Anna Nicholson
About
Anna Nicholson was raised on her family's farm in Burkes Garden, VA. Growing up in the heart of the Appalachian Mountain range, she developed a life-long love of the environment and a passion for rural development. She attended the College of William & Mary as an undergraduate student, gaining a B.A. in English Literature.
This summer, Anna will be working with Open Development Cambodia, which seeks to provide the public with up-to-date, accurate information about Cambodia and its economic and social development. She will be researching the develpment of Cambodia's coastal natural resources, specifically around the rapidly growing tourism industry. Her research will focus on how those resources can be developed in a sustainable and socially responsible way to include small farmers and landowners who do not always benefit from the development process.
