Last Week
As my internship with the General Counsel’s Office comes to a close, I am very happy with my decision to intern with USAID. As noted in previous posts, the mentorship I received this summer was invaluable. It has been even better in the last several weeks with the 2L job search picking up. I have learned so much about development and how to practice law in the federal government. I would highly recommend an internship with GC to any law student interested in international affairs or international development.
As a final send off, the GC office all went to a National’s baseball game. This was a great way to conclude the internship, especially because of all the friendship made along the way. I will miss the other interns as they all head back to their respective law schools, and I will especially miss working at USAID. In my last week, President Trump sent a special message to Congress for a potential rescission of some USAID funds, which creates an interesting legal challenge. I had assignments that were interesting and challenging up until my final day, where I turned in my I.D.
I could not be happier with the summer, and a big thank you to the USAID GC family!!
