Week 10: The End of the Beginning
My last day at IBJ ended just like my first: with a spread of breads, cheeses, and wine. But instead of me frantically trying to remember everyone's names, this party was a celebration of the work I and the other interns had completed and a look forward into the organization's future.
After weeks of dreading my long list of to-dos, I finally completed all of the compliance work required by IBJ's donors. That list, once so intimidating, was full of crossed off items when I closed my browser on my last day.
With trademark applications filed, the last piece of IP business is to wait for the approvals to roll in. And to pay the bills of course.
It's hard to believe my time at IBJ has come to an end. On my last day, I wrote an exit memo detailing what work I had done and what next steps needed to be taken. As I took stock of my time, I realized how much I had managed to accomplish. Tasks that once seemed daunting had come and gone. Legal issues I felt unqualified to work on had been conquered. My experience at IBJ has given me the tools and, perhaps more importantly, the confidence to pursue my career goals.
Thank you to the fantastic volunteers, interns, and staff at IBJ for a wonderful experience. Next stop: Williamsburg!
