Getting Started
My first day at the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative took place virtually over Microsoft Teams. We had some technical glitches due to weak internet connections, but it was great to meet everyone I will be working with! Next week the Central Asia team will have judges visiting from Kazakhstan. The country is currently slowly transitioning from an inquisitorial justice system to an adversarial one and are hoping to gain a better understanding of our judicial system during their visit. The judges will visit the Department of Justice, the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project, and attend a trial at the Montgomery County Circuit Court, as well as a court hearing at the U.S. District Court. I’m really excited that I get to join them!
