Writing a Concept Note (Wishing I Studied Russian)
Today I met with Jared and Azamat to discuss the concept note I am working on. A concept note is essentially a pre-proposal; it describes what the proposal will be before it has been written. My concept note will concern implementing alternative dispute resolution in Kyrgyzstan.
Azamat sent me several examples of concept notes put forward by ABA-ROLI for Kyrgyzstan in the past. He is also going to send me resources to get started on researching mediation in Kyrgyzstan. Azamat noted that the vast majority of research papers will be Russian, but that I can use translation apps to get the gist of them. I am excited to get started—and wishing I took Russian in college!
