Emma Battin
The CEELI Institute in Prague, Czech Republic
As the sole legal intern at the Central and Eastern European Law Initiative (The CEELI Institute), I have the privilege of working with all of the Institute's departments. The CEELI Institute is widely regarded as a central educational sanctuary for international law. I perform research, craft documents, and assist and attend meetings with international judges, justices, and legal experts. My work centers around advancing the rule of law and strengthening judiciaries around the world. The unique feature of working at the CEELI Institute is that legal experts and high court justices from various legal systems fly across the world to my "home," Villa Gröbovka. Thus, my work in international law is active and personal. I have the pleasure of meeting, working with, and learning from judges from over a dozen different countries.
