This week I was dealing with health issues that interfered with my schedule, but I still had a productive, informative week. After spending much of Tuesday at Urgent Care, I resumed my research and was given a new assignment on Wednesday. A big highlight for the week was spending most of Thursday in the Senate to attend a hearing held by the U.S-China Economic and Security Review Commission on "Europe, the United States, and Relations with China: Convergence or Divergence?" The hearing was split into three separate panels containing different speakers and topics of focus. I found the second panel, titled “Convergence and Divergence: Technology, Standards/Data, and Trade” to be the most interesting and relevant to what I have been working on while at the ACC. Some notable discussion topics from that panel include the security concerns associated with TikTok and leadership in international standardization groups.
