Week 9 at the ACC
This week I began diving deep into a new and exciting project involving extended producer responsibility (EPR) programs for textiles. The rise of fast fashion and the increase in global textile waste are major areas of concern and I was delighted to be given a project related to these issues. On Tuesday, I attended another event at the Environmental Law Institute as part of their “summer school” series. This event offered a great networking opportunity as most attendees were working attorneys or other law students. Furthermore, attendees and panelists all shared a passion for environmental justice. After listening to three fascinating lawyers share their thoughts on environmental justice during the panel, there was a happy hour in which attendees were given the opportunity to mingle with each other and the speakers. Personally, a large takeaway from this event for me was the fact that being a lawyer can look like many different things and there are endless ways to follow certain passions, especially environmental ones, in the field of law.
