01 - Introduction
Hello! I'll be interning at the Constitutional Court of Kosovo this summer. I wanted to do this internship because Kosovo is a very young country; they declared independence in 2008. Coupled with my interest in constitutional law, experiencing the workings of a developing court system offers an invaluable experience.
Kosovo has been going through the arduous process of joining the Council of Europe (one of the many steps to joining the greater European Union), however, its possible that a new treaty may be struck regarding the governance of Serb-majority municipalities within Kosovo. A similar deal was struck previously but the Constitutional Court ruled it unconstitutional in 2013.
I'm looking forward to seeing if the Court will get the opportunity to address the issue again.
