A Sad Farewell
With the EPIC project finalized, only two final assignments were left: Mali and Ghana's constitutional history. I spent the week alternating between the two and felt a real sense of satisfaction in completing them both on time.
For my farewells, we had a team dinner at Hershey's loft in The Hague, and I met my roommates for dinner and drinks at various points during the week. I also carved out time to revisit my favorite spots in the city, taking long evening bike rides through Haagse Bos, Park Sorghvliet, and Westbroekpark. I walked along the beach with my roommate's dog, Lucy, and generally made sure to enjoy all the activities I'd come to love here.
It's hard to fully capture how much I will miss this Dutch city and the people I've met this summer. I am deeply grateful that I had the opportunity to spend the summer here and work on projects that challenged me, explore places I might never have seen otherwise, and build connections I hope to keep. I'm certain I'll be back, and perhaps next time for an even longer stay.

With that said, returning to the States was a bit of a jolt. I flew directly into JFK and am now spending a week with a friend in Brooklyn. It's been hard not to compare the two places, but I'll spare going into those thoughts and simply say that I'm looking forward to being back in little Williamsburg soon. I feel reenergized after the intensity of the 1L year and excited to dive into new classes and subjects. I plan to carry the skills and insights from this summer into future projects, my Note, and my 2L job. Ultimately, I'm feeling ready for whatever comes next.
