About
Nassim Hooshmandnia, a 2010 graduate, is an associate at Winston & Strawn LLP in Hong Kong where she practices international arbitration and litigation. Nassim’s practice includes the representation of governments and private clients in investor-state and commercial arbitration in proceedings under various arbitral rules including those of ICSID, UNCITRAL and the ICC. She is currently representing the Republic of Ecuador in an arbitration brought by Chevron Corporation involving allegations of denial of justice and other breaches of the U.S.-Ecuador bilateral investment treaty. The amount in controversy exceeds US$ 9 billion. Prior to joining Winston & Strawn’s Hong Kong office, Nassim was an associate in their Geneva, Switzerland office for three years and their Washington, TC office for two years where she was also a summer associate after her second year at William & Mary.
Prior to law school, Nassim worked at the World Bank’s Department of Institutional Integrity where she investigated allegations of fraud and corruption against corporations, government agencies, and individuals involved in Bank-funded projects.
While at William & Mary, Nassim was a member of the William and Mary Bill of Rights Journal, the International Law Society, the Bone Marrow Drive, and the Women’s Law Society. The summer after her first year she interned in Kolkata, India with Geneva-based human rights NGO International Bridges to Justice. Nassim also studied abroad at the University of Hong Kong and worked at the Hong Kong Refugee Advice Center during her 3L year.
