Chairman of Highway Comm’n v. Fletcher

Chairman condemned a right of way through land of Fletcher and issue of just compensation went to trial. Commissioners awarded $2,000 to which Chairman excepted as grossly excessive. Trial court affirmed award. Supreme Court reversed and remanded. The commissioners were to determine the fair market value of the affected property immediately before and after the take. The commissioners improperly considered damage amounts to a pond and a residence as the specific measure of their award. This was an incorrect method
