Catch Up With William & Mary Law Professors on Podcasts

If you’re anything like me, you have a couple of favorite podcasts on lock. I use podcasts as a distraction (or maybe an escape?) from current events, so I tend to gravitate towards entertainment-focused shows. (My favorites are rewatch podcasts of television shows I love — LOST and The Office, specifically.) But sometimes I’ll listen to individual episodes of other podcasts if I find them really interesting. And luckily for me (and the rest of the William & Mary Law student body), there are a lot of interesting podcast episodes to check out featuring professors here at the Law School.
Just last week, for example, the Business Scholarship Podcast, hosted by Brooklyn Law School Assistant Professor of Law Andrew J. Kennings, released an episode featuring William & Mary’s own Darian M. Ibrahim. Prof. Ibrahim, the Tazewell Taylor Professor of Law here at the Law School, specializes in corporate law, securities law, venture capital, entrepreneurship and cryptocurrencies. He joined the Business Scholarship Podcast to discuss early cryptocurrency entrepreneurs. Click here to listen to the podcast episode and find out more!
Earlier this year, Jeffrey Bellin, the Cabell Research Professor and Mills E. Godwin, Jr., Professor of Law, joined the Everyday Injustice podcast to discuss his book, “Mass Incarceration Nation.” Prof. Bellin specializes in criminal law, criminal procedure, evidence and law and technology. Last May, meanwhile, Prof. Timothy Zick, the John Marshall Professor of Government and Citizenship, joined the Bloomberg Law podcast to discuss a Supreme Court ruling that Boston acted unconstitutionally when it refused to fly a Christian group’s flag at City Hall. Prof. Zick specializes in constitutional law, the 1st Amendment, the 2nd Amendment and the 14th Amendment. Click here to listen to the podcast episode and find out more!
And finally, Prof. Rebecca Green, an Associate Professor of Law and the Co-Director of the Election Law Program, joined the Bloomberg Law podcast last February. In the episode, Prof. Green, who specializes in election law, legislative redistricting, privacy law and alternative dispute resolution, discussed a Supreme Court ruling dealing a blow to minority voting rights. Next time you find yourself with a few extra minutes in your day, I really recommend taking the time to listen to these podcasts. You can familiarize yourself with some of the professors you’ll meet when you arrive here, and you can learn some really interesting things about the law!
