Law School to Host Oct. 2011 Conference in China on Property Rights; Justice O'Connor to be Honored Guest
The W&M Property Rights Project's 2011 conference will be held at Tsinghua University in Beijing on Oct. 14-15. Justice Sandra Day O'Connor will attend the conference, where she will be honored with the 2011 Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Prize in recognition of her contributions to property law jurisprudence. $1.1 Million Gift to Create Civil Liberties Project
A $1.1 million gift from College alumni Timothy P. Dunn ‘83 and Ellen R. Stofan ’83 will establish the H. Stewart Dunn, Jr. Civil Liberties Project at William & Mary.  To read more, click here.

Veterans Day Celebration: Naming of Lewis B. Puller, Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic
Senator Mark Warner, members of the Puller family, and members of the Class of 1974 were on hand to celebrate the naming of the Veterans Benefits Clinic in honor of Lewis B. Puller, Jr., B.A. ’67, J.D. ’74.  To read more, click here.

Veterans’ legal needs were the focus of a VBA event which highlighted the bar association’s Veterans Initiative, which seeks to enlist attorneys to help veterans and will encourage fundraisers to benefit the Puller clinic. To read more, click here.

W&M Law Grads Achieve Highest Bar Passage Rate on Virginia’s July 2010 Exam
The Virginia Board of Bar Examiners announced that 92.6 percent of W&M Law School graduates who took the bar for the first time passed the July 2010 exam, the highest passage rate among first-time test takers from the eight law schools in the state. To read more, click here.

Tidewater Roots Polling Project Involves Area College Students in Election Process
The Tidewater Roots Polling Project trained 66 area college students to work with registrars in running polling locations in November’s midterm election. Loan Repayment Assistance Program Applications - Deadline Jan. 13
The Law School’s Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) assists graduates, beginning with the Class of 2004, who work for government agencies or 501(c)(3) organizations. The 2011 LRAP application is available by clicking on the link above which also includes information about loan repayment options in addition to the Law School’s.  Deadline for receipt of applications is Jan. 13, 2011.

John R. Justice Program
