Loan Repayment Assistance Program Announces 2007 Awards

The Loan Repayment Assistance Program selection committee announced in February that six members of the Class of 2006 will receive loan repayment assistance, and, in addition, three graduates (two from the Class of 2005 and one from the Class of 2004) have had their awards from 2006 renewed. Established in 2004, in honor of Professor John Levy, the program assists graduates with loan repayment who work for private non-profit organizations or government employers. The Loan Repayment Assistance Program Committee is pleased to announce this year's awards from the Law School's Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP). Through the program, graduates who work for private non-profit organizations or government employers are eligible to apply for up to $5,000 annually in loan forgiveness for a maximum of three years.

The following members of the Law School community served on the selection committee: Professor Jayne Barnard, Professor Eric D. Chason, Judith M. Conti '94, David M. Dalke '93, Associate Dean Robert Kaplan, Associate Dean Sally F. Kellam, Professor Emeritus John Levy, Maryann Nolan '07, Associate Dean Patricia Roberts, and Associate Dean Faye Shealy.

Now in its third year, the Law School's LRAP is on solid footing thanks to the financial support of alumni and friends of the Law School. Fifteen graduates have received loan repayment assistance since the program was established.
