Professor James G. Dwyer publishes new book on Child Welfare Policy
Professor James G. Dwyer, Arthur B. Hanson Professor of Law and Cabell Research Professor of Law at William & Mary Law School, has published a new book, Liberal Child Welfare Policy and its Destruction of Black Lives (Routledge, 2018). Pp. 272.
This ground-breaking and provocative book is the first to provide a child-centered perspective on the subject by combining a wealth of social science information with sophisticated normative analysis to support novel reforms — to child protection law and practice, family law, and zoning — that would quickly end that cycle.
A review by Professor Elizabeth Bartholet of Harvard Law School declares this “a brilliant, bold, original, deeply interesting, and extraordinarily important book.”
