Winter Nears its End and Spring Springs into Action
February ended with a major William & Mary Law Review symposium on "Mass Incarceration Nation,"which focused on the United States’ persistently high incarceration rate in prisons and jails and is timed to correspond to the recent publication by Cambridge University Press of W&M Professor Jeffrey Bellin’s book, "Mass Incarceration Nation: How the United States Became Addicted to Prisons and Jails and How It Can Recover." And going into March, events only ramped up from there. From conferences to guest speakers and alumni returning to share advice with students, there's a wealth of events going on at any given time.
Fourth Circuit Visit
March 10 - A group of 1Ls visited the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Adjunct professors Alyson Yates and Danny Yates ’15 led the trip. The trip complements the W&M Lawyering Skills curriculum, which culminates in an oral argument simulation by 1L students.
