Rank Among Military Friendly® Graduate Schools is Solid Gold for William & Mary Law School
William & Mary Law School continues its years-long streak as a top-ranked graduate school in the list of Military Friendly® Graduate Schools for 2023-24. The list was released in August and will be published in the May edition of G.I. Jobs magazine.
“It is wonderful news that William & Mary Law School has once again been honored with the Military Friendly Gold School designation for the upcoming A023-2024 Military Friendly Cycle,” said A. Benjamin Spencer, Dean and Trustee Professor, and a major in the U.S. Army Judges Advocatee General’s Corps, Reserve. “This recognition highlights our deep commitment to serving and supporting our military-affiliated students and their families.”
Located in the Hampton Roads region of Southeastern Virginia, which is renowned for its distinguished military presence, the Law School has long been dedicated to creating an environment that empowers military service members, veterans, and their loved ones to achieve their academic and professional goals.
A strong component of the Law School’s dedication to veterans is its Lewis B. Puller, Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic, which offers students opportunities to assist veterans with filing claims for disability compensation with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
This past summer, the Law School launched the Office of Military & Veteran Affairs (OMVA), which will provide dedicated, focused, and holistic support to Law School students who are veterans, active duty, or Reserve Forces personnel.
William & Mary’s main campus likewise hosts a number of military-friendly resources, including the Office of Student Veteran Engagement, the Center for Military Transition, and the Whole of Government Center of Excellence.
Spencer noted that William &Mary Law School’s achievement is a collective effort that would not be possible without the dedication of faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
“Their contributions have transformed William & Mary Law School into a place where diversity, inclusivity, and academic excellence thrive hand in hand,” Spencer said. “As we proudly celebrate our Military Friendly milestone, we invite all prospective students who share our commitment to the military community to join us in making a positive impact and being part of a supportive community that values their unique experiences and contributions.”
The national Military Friendly rankings also designated William & Mary Law School as a Military Friendly Spouse School for 2023-24, a distinction that, according to Spencer, reflects the School’s “understanding of the unique challenges military families face and our dedication to providing tailored resources.”
