Fourth Annual Workshop for AAPI/MENA (Asian American Pacific Islander and Middle Eastern and North African) Women in the Legal Academy.
This workshop is aimed at building community and supporting and mentoring women aspiring to enter or who are in the legal academy. The workshop will include a space for workshopping incubators and works in progress, exploring our shared identities and history, and dialoguing about professional development and wellness.

Please join us for the kickoff gathering of this 4th annual workshop to encourage community building, networking, and professional development.
Registration Opens: September 10 – October 10, 2024
Registration Deadline: October 10, 2024
This year the Workshop has a $125 registration fee to support the excellent programming. However, for those who either do not have or have exhausted their professional development or travel budgets, no-cost tickets are available now.
WORKS IN PROGRESS & INCUBATORS
Abstracts due September 16, 2024 | Complete Drafts due October 7, 2024
We invite you to present your work to receive valuable feedback from your colleagues. We are holding sessions for Incubators (early-stage projects with 2–3-page final drafts) as well as Works-in-Progress (full drafts of articles).
Please submit a 200-word-max abstract to AAPIMENAWorkshop@gmail.com and please indicate AAPI/MENA in the subject line by Monday, September 16, 2024. In the email, indicate whether the submission is an Incubator or a Work-in-Progress. Final drafts for both Incubators and Works-in-Progress should be submitted to the same email address by Monday, October 7, 2024.
TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATIONS
Travel Stipends
The Workshop has a limited amount of funds to provide travel assistance to join the Workshop. Priority will be given to those who do not have access to a travel budget at their home institution or organization to attend academic workshops and conferences. If you would like to be considered for a travel stipend, please write to AAPIMENAWorkshop@gmail.com and please indicate AAPI/MENA in the subject line. Please state your position, your institution or organization, and your reason for requesting a stipend. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, with decisions generally communicated weekly in the order received if funding allows.
