During a celebratory annual luncheon for employees on May 14, Christina Smith Lewis was presented with the 2024 Chris Creech Award. Given annually to a deserving member of the Law School staff in recognition of outstanding service and commitment, the award is named in honor of former Associate Registrar Chris Creech, who passed away in 2015.

For more than 15 years, Lewis has served as the administrative assistant in the Law School’s Office of Advancement.

“Christina has been described as ‘the heart, soul, and backbone’ of what we like to refer to as Team Awesome,” said Dean A. Benjamin Spencer as he announced the award. “Sitting at what is best described as a ‘Command Console’ in our Advancement Office, Christina consistently shows a level of dedication that is truly extraordinary.”

Spencer praised Lewis’s “remarkable work ethic and exceptional attention to detail,” as she handles “complex projects, challenging tasks, or simple requests with ease.” This work not only includes her duties in Advancement, but also, when she is called upon to help the dean on special projects.

“Christina, we are grateful to you for your first 15 years of tireless work at our Law School,” Spencer said. “We are happy to bestow the Chris Creech Award in recognition of your incredible talent and commitment to our community.”
