William & Mary law students come here because they believe in our philosophy of the citizen lawyer. We select them from thousands of applicants not only for their impressive credentials, but because of their potential to make significant contributions to society as members of the legal profession.
There is no such thing as a typical W&M law student. Many arrive with years of work experience and a strong desire to acquire new skills to apply to pressing issues in their communities. Some come straight out of undergraduate programs looking for the ideal career. They are chemists, teachers, servicemen and women, athletes and activists. And they're all engaged in the educational experience of a lifetime.
