week 6

Hello everyone! It has been an eventful week.

At work I was instructed to split the current project I am working on into two separate reports. The first is an extremely detailed analysis of all laws and regulations of the Republic of Kosovo that affect the issue of voters' list accuracy in any way. The second report will be the one I have already been working a bit on, which compares the voters' list accuracy in different regional and EU countries with Kosovo to see what possible changes could be made. Most of this week was spent working on the new paper. It is taking a while because sometimes it is very difficult to find English translations of certain regulations issued by the Central Election Commission.

After work on Friday I was able to hop on a plane to Rome, Italy. Rome was very nice. Before the sun set I went and saw the coliseum. Then right after sunset I went to Trevi Fountain. At the fountain I really noticed the effect of overtourism. There were so many people, it was an incredible sight. I could not even get close enough to take a photo so I decided to leave and have dinner. At dinner I saw the bright side of overtourism, the restaurant had menus in every language as well as a charging port for cell phones. After this I went with some people I had met and took a night tour of the Roman Forum. Very interesting history and very cool at night. Later that evening around midnight, on my way back to where I was staying I stopped by Trevi Fountain again and there was almost no one there.

The next day I woke up early and went to Vatican city. Then in the early afternoon I hopped on a high speed train bound for Venice, Italy. Venice was probably the coolest place I have ever been. There are no cars or motorcycles in the city. The streets are sometimes so narrow you can hold out your arms and touch the wallls of buildings on either side. The only way to get around other than walking is by a boat taxi or buy a boat bus. I took the bus while I was there. I did not need to get anywhere, I just thought it would be cool to ride public transportation that was a boat.

Well, that is all for this week. Ciao!
