About

Kristin Palmason left the hustle of New York City after many years to attend law school at William and Mary, where she is a Graduate Research Fellow in Election Law. She is enjoying the slower pace of life in Williamsburg, and while she spends most of her time in the law library, she looks forward to exploring more of the great outdoors of Virginia through hiking, biking, kayaking, and horseback riding.

Before law school, Kristin was the Vice President of Compliance at Capalino+Company, a government relations firm in New York City. As leader of the compliance department, Kristin managed the firm's high-volume disclosure reporting, helped clients navigate their disclosure obligations, and managed the firm's contract administration lifecycle. Her previous positions include coordinating municipal bond issuances as a public finance paralegal at Hawkins, Delafield & Wood, supporting the crisis communications team at FTI Consulting and administering grant portfolios at a philanthropic foundation. Kristin holds a Master of Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Williamette University in Salem, Oregon.

This summer, Kristin will be working with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance in the Yangon, Myanmar field office. She will be supporting International IDEA's democratic and electoral reform efforts in Myanmar and will contribute to the MyConstitution Project. Through MyConstitution, IDEA partners with local organizations and government stakeholders to advance democratic constitution-building.
