Raven Peters
Raven Peters is from Sarasota, Florida. She received her B.A. from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Political Science on an International Relations track with a minor in Dance and a focus on Arabic Language Studies. While at UCF, Raven was an active member of the Student Government Association as a Student Senator wherein she focused on improving disability accessibility. Additionally, she worked at the center of a gubernatorial campaign in Orlando, Florida and as an intern at the United States Department of State in Washington, D.C. Now, obtaining her J.D. from William & Mary Law School, Raven hopes to one day use her law degree to aid in human rights and refugee rights across the globe.
Raven will be working with the Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA) in Johannesburg, South Africa. In her role at ISLA, Raven will be working with the domestic courts in South Africa, international courts in Africa, and UN treaty bodies to better facilitate women’s human, sexual, and economic rights throughout Africa.
