Transfer Orientation
The date and time of the mandatory orientation session will be noted in your letter of admission. The session will introduce you to various aspects of our curriculum, and important administrators, program directors and student leaders; it will give information regarding academic policies, where to find answers to common questions and how we communicate with our students.
As a William & Mary student, you are bound by the Honor Code. Please read it soon. You will be invited to discuss the Code with representatives of the Honor Council or be required to attend an ethics session in the first weeks of school.
Don't be confused about our exam process. Review the exam policies well in advance of the end of the term.
Ranks are only given at the conclusion of your second term of study with us. Only students with a 3.6 or higher will receive an absolute rank. Most students receive a percentage rank.
Our highest academic honor is induction to Order of the Coif. As a transfer student, you are not eligible to earn this honor because you will not accumulate sufficient graded academic credits to satisfy the rules for induction. We do award Latin honors, for which you will be eligible.
