Current Students

Welcome, Students

The Office of Career Services (OCS) is located in Suite 263 in the Law School's North Wing. We look forward to assisting with your career and professional development.

OCS uses Symplicity to host resources and to facilitate on-campus interviews, resume forwards, job postings, and off-campus interview programs. You use it to manage your application documents, to apply for on-campus employers, resume forwards, and some off-campus interview programs, to schedule on-campus interviews, to search job postings, and to schedule appointments with your advisor.

Career Guides

The law library reference staff prepares a series of guides to help you choose your legal career path. Find out more information about many areas of law and how to locate other career resources.

Some law schools provide reasonable access to their career resources for students and graduates of other law schools. Each law school has its own reciprocity policy. To learn about the reciprocity policies of law schools, see the National Association for Law Placement's web site. If, having reviewed a school's reciprocity policy, you want to request reciprocity, please complete a Request for Reciprocity form.

Pro Bono & Community Service

The importance of pro bono service is recognized through a variety of programs.

Loan Repayment Assistance

Various programs exist to help William & Mary Law graduates entering public service pay their student loans. The Law School's Loan Repayment Assistance Program assists graduates entering public service. The College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007 and other legislation help graduates in public service as well as those pursuing other careers under specific circumstances. The William & Mary Office of Student Financial Aid can also provide information about federal public service loan forgiveness.

Federal, state, and employer-based loan repayment programs operate independently of William & Mary's. Equal Justice Works provides an overview of some of these programs and offers debt relief webinars and other Heather Jarvis, a nationally-recognized expert on education debt relief, offers loan repayment information via webinars, a blog, and other resources.
