Transactional Law Team - Colonial Cup
About
The William & Mary Colonial Cup offers law students an opportunity to draft and negotiate a business transaction based on real-life examples. Student teams, representing either the buyer or seller, draft a proposed agreement before negotiating the terms with an opposing team. Each team will compete in two rounds of negotiation, and a new fact will be introduced during the second round to simulate the evolving dynamics of real-life negotiations.
Experienced practitioners and law professors will serve as judges. After the final round, there will be a reception where students can network with other teams and judges, and the highest-scoring teams will receive awards for their contracts and negotiations.
The competition will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2027.
