Cedric Alexander, Past President of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives
Dr. Alexander is a public servant, thought leader, and author of "In Defense of Public Service: How 22 Million Government Workers Will Save Our Republic." He began his career more than 40 years ago as a Deputy Sheriff in Leon County, Florida. From his beginnings in law enforcement, Dr. Alexander went on to serve in numerous capacities at all levels of government; local, state, and federal. His background combines a long career as a deputy, a police officer, a detective, a deputy mayor, and a police chief in cities across the United States. He holds a doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Wright State University. Learn more.
Chris Blue, Interim Town Manager and former Police Chief, Chapel Hill, NC
Mr. Blue has served the Chapel Hill community since 1997 as a member of the Town of Chapel Hill Police Department. He served as Chief of Police from 2010-2022. He has served as Interim Town Manager since January 2023. He holds a master's degree in Public Administration from North Carolina State University. Learn more.
Joshua Horwitz, Co-Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions
Mr. Horwitz and the Johns Hopkins Center works to reduce gun violence by utilizing public health research and health equity analysis to build advocacy campaigns that meet critical opportunities in the policy development process. He holds a J.D. from George Washington University. The Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions is part of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Its creation resulted from the merger of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Prevention and the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence. Learn more.
