Steven J. Mulroy will be hosting a discussion on progressive prosecution, the importance of prosecutorial independence, and his office's role in the prosecution of the officers accused in the beating death of Tyre Nichols in Memphis. A seasoned legal professional with a background as a federal prosecutor, civil rights attorney, and law professor at the University of Memphis, Mulroy is known for his commitment to justice reform, transparency, and accountability.

Mr. Mulroy is the District Attorney for Shelby County, Tennessee, elected in 2022, as the first Democrat to hold the position in over three decades. He attended Cornell University, graduating with Distinction in All Subjects, then attended William & Mary Law School, where he graduated Order of the Coif.
