Kimberly E. Hensley graduated from Hollins College with BAs in Political Science and French. She then obtained her JD from the University of Virginia School of Law. She is currently an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for York County and Poquoson, Virginia and serves as the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prosecutor under the Violence Against Women Act. Ms. Hensley’s legal career has concentrated on criminal law - as a prosecutor and public defender - appellate practice, and representing children. She has lectured for a variety of groups including the Indigent Defense Commission, Law Enforcement, and Forensic Nurse Examiners. Topics have included trial preparation, legal research and writing, investigation of domestic violence and sexual assault crimes, and expert witness testimony.
Ms. Hensley is active in her community and has served on the Gloucester County School Board and the Gloucester Library Board of Trustees. She is currently a board member of the Cook Foundation, the Gloucester Main Street Preservation Trust, and Gloucester Arts on Main.
