An examination of major civil rights statues, with focus on 42 U.S.C. ß1983, the relationship between ß1983 and the Fourteenth Amendment, the defenses and immunities of individuals and governmental entities, the relationship between state and federal courts in civil rights actions, and the remedies for violations of constitutional rights.
