Therapeutic Jurisprudence

LAW 350-01 Therapeutic Jurisprudence 3 credits
The study of Therapeutic Jurisprudence or TJ is the study of law that is grounded in the notion of practicing law with an ethic of care. Whether it be family law, criminal law, health law, business or commercial transactions, estate planning or elder law, the course looks at many legal disciplines through the perspective lens of TJ. Students will focus on the idea that lawyering has much to do with problem-solving and having as many tools as possible to accomplish your work will lead to better client and lawyer satisfaction. The class will look at practical solutions, interdisciplinary opportunities and other ideas to improve the practice of law and help clients solve very real problems.
